Long Range Acoustic Device LRAD

Professional UAV detection system "Anti-Drone" used to identify and track unauthorized penetration and movement of drones in the protected zones can be supplemented with a Long Range Acoustic Device LRAD, which is designed to neutralize the drone operator and the UAV itself. When the Anti-Drone System is used together with the acoustic device LRAD it provides much higher level of security in the protected area and much higher efficiency in the fight against intruders.

Long Range Acoustic Device LRAD has become an essential component of security systems thanks to its ability to project a controlled beam of noise, which initially was mainly used for hazing of birds in order to ensure aviation safety. However, nowadays LRAD represents a universal solution applied in a wide variety of security systems, in particular being an important component of perimeter surveillance systems.

The acoustic device LRAD, also known as a sound cannon or acoustic cannon, is an effective tool for controlling a drone operator by means of a loud directional sound. The sound cannon can project a controlled beam of noise on the drone operator in order to disorientate him and distract him from controlling a UAV, which at the same time provides the security personnel with the time necessary to catch the culprit. Thus, the directional sound pressure level is able to neutralize the drone operator by significantly affecting his eardrums, especially if he is taken unawares and doesn´t have any hearing protection device.

When the LRAD operator receives a command, he can enable the projector (manually or using a remote control) and point it at the intruder to send instructions and warnings over distance. This way he can warn the drone operator about the illegal infiltration and the possible response actions. If the intruder does not retreat from his plan, the operator can turn on the acoustic protection and point the sound cannon at the drone operator.

Even when the weakest acoustic power is applied, the drone operator feels discomfort, which grows with the increase of the sound power. When the maximum acoustic output is reached, the drone operator begins to experience unbearable pain in the head and ears, which ultimately leads to his inability to act.

LRAD is a countermeasures device used as a means of non-lethal, non-kinetic control. LRAD systems are used by law enforcement, military, maritime and commercial security companies. As part on the Anti-Drone system LRAD equipment allows to warn the drone operator that the flights over a given territory are prohibited or prevent him from being able to control a UAV. LRAD can also be mounted on a special response vehicle GROK and used as part of a mobile solution for neutralizing the drone operator.
